The Struggle Is Real

By Marlene McBean

Have you ever been in a situations where you have been in church from a tender age? All you know is going to church nothing more. You have friends who say they were Christian but living an opposite lifestyle from the one they should be living. Their spirit starts transferring and before you know it you become what they are, so you grow up doing what they are doing?

You started seeking for love in the wrong places because there was no father present and mother does all she can for the survival of her family.  Food was very scarce, clothes worn were what people didn’t want but you were glad to wear them because you had none.  The place where you lived was not conducive for living but it was all you had? the struggle is real.

Do you know what it is to be so broken, empty, suffering from chronic depression, faced with sickness one after the other, don’t know where to turn so you just lived anyway. You try education but because of the things that are tearing you apart, you can’t study, you’re shout at because you’re not doing well in school?

Nothing worked out in your favor?  Still you never gave up.  You tried everything to make you happy. You even smoked and drink because that was what you saw when you were growing up. The movement from one relationship to another just to find that peace, joy and love that was so badly needed. There was also the need to be free from the struggles of life, but instead you go deeper and deeper in hurting yourself. The struggle is real.

Yes this is it now, going back to church will solve all your problems, but it just began. Yes; getting married could solved the problems but all hell broke loose, guess why? You married a man that was not a Christian. You were told not to marry that man but you did anyways because of the history you had with him. All this you thought would have solved the problems you were facing. At least you found love or so you thought, still there was that emptiness inside and guess what again? Everything crashed. God is still saying come, I can fix this, but you said no.

People let’s be real, I know some may say why is she writing this but I’m doing this to let someone know that there is refuge in Jesus Christ.  Psalm 46 vs 1 states there is deliverance in him. The moment you say,” enough is enough, Lord I am tired of this life.” Fully surrender your life to him and let him take all the memories of sinning away, then he will take you in his arms.

Ask him to fill you with the Holy Spirit and he will. Then it takes lots of prayers and fasting, studying the word of God, dwelling in that secret and associate yourself with like-minded people who will encourage you, pray with you so you can grow. I could go on and on with so many things but God is saying come unto me, cast all your care on me.  1 Peter 5: 7 He’s saying it doesn’t have to be like that.  God knows that the struggle is real!

Conclusion of the matter is that” If any man be in Christ he is a new creature….2 Corinthians 5:17. It doesn’t stop there you have to be consistently in prayer and fasting because it’s not going to be an easy journey but the destination will worth the struggles. Stand fast…Galatians 5 vs 1
