It’s okay to ask….
Sometimes the right questions may get you flustered and even a bit defensive but they can be asked to get the right responses. As long as they are not too personal that they can’t be answered. These responses could help you to see things from different perspectives and so help you to make decisions to either go forward, take a new path or just stop.
A question could make the way clear….
The Lord works in many ways and we need to understand that even questions has the right intentions when they are asked for the right reasons. Take this question for example; How do you know that you are on the right path? Can you imagine this question when you have been a Christian for years? How should you take this question when you have been in this job for so long? This is a question that Christ asked. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye yet fail to perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? (Matt 7:2)
Christ also ask questions….
There are questions that you need to ask yourself as a child of God and they have bearing on whether or not you are living the way you ought to. Christ also asked this question. Do you not yet understand or comprehend? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes and still not see? Ears and not hear? (Mark 8:17-18).
Be open to questions…..
We need to remember that people view you as a Christian. It is your life that they see and they have a right to question it. The fact that our lives should reflect Christ leaves us open to questions from all angles. Getting defensive when our Christian walk comes into question should never really be a problem as long as we know that we are doing the right things.
Meaningful questions…
A very close friend asked me what have I done to get me closer to my goals today and I got somewhat offended. She was close to me to know all the things that I have done so why was she asking me this? I tried to blow it off. I then started to really think about it and started telling her. The truth is she wanted me to see that I was moving in the right direction. She also wanted me to see that there are other things that are needed to be done to reach my intended goals. As you go about your journey try to see the good in some questions that are being asked of you. Try not to take them too personal. It could be a means to point you in the right direction.
