Have you ever look at a car when it is parked and not moved for a long time? The tires begin to slow leak until it gets flat. This is just like us Christians, if we don’t move from our place of complacency, we will be burnt out and empty. Don’t become a flat tire.
I was just talking to someone about reflecting on this pandemic, the churches were closed for a while and we found time to worry, watch television and most of all we spent a lot of time on social media for the wrong reasons. We don’t find time to feed ourselves with the word and stay in the presence of God.
People are out there struggling and listening for a word and all we see is stuff about COVID 19 which can be easily found on the internet. I’m not saying that we must not educate ourselves on this plague but what did the Bible say about plague? Psalm 91 is a promise that God made to us that if we dwell in his secret place then we are safe from all this. In order for us to be saved from this we have to believe and have faith.
Now is the time to encourage each other to stand and to push. A lot of persons are fearful of a new way of living. The future doesn’t look bright in their eyes. Many are out of jobs and some are homeless.
There are those who don’t even know where the next meal is coming from. Millions of persons are dying or have died since last year from this deadly disease. On the other hand, some of us are blessed not to have encountered with this disease. Don’t be a flat tire.
Christians are slowly dying, they are giving up, not sure of their faith anymore. Fear has become their new way of living. Not that they don’t want to read the bible or pray but the pressures of life has taken over. What I’m really trying to say is that instead of posting or sharing stuff that is depressing, share the word to give hope to the hopeless and draw sinners to Christ. Mark 16 vs 15; Go into all the world and preach the gospel. Don’t be a flat tire.
To think of it too, we’re all called to be disciples for Christ so we ought to spread the word near and far. When the tire gets flat, what do we do? Pump it up. Let us feast ourselves on the word.
During our time of lock down or curfew, we have time where we can spend in our secret place with our Lord Jesus. We will get discouraged at times but I implore you to push forward don’t get stagnant and get flat like the car tires. When we find that our lamps are getting dim, let’s trim them so that they can stay bright.
Each day, find someone and give a word or a song, you just might save someone from doing something they’ll regret later and that will keep our tires from getting flat… This is me just thinking…….
