The Secret Place

By Marlene McBean

Psalms 91 brings hope to those who believe and have faith in God and one who wants to be sheltered in the arms of God. To dwell means to abide continually or to stay. Secret place is an intimate place of divine protection.

Most high is that place where no threat or harm can over power us. The shadow of the almighty is a place of care and protection. In other wards we would say if we abide continually in that intimate place of divine protection, no harm or threat can overpower us. We rest safely under the care and protection of God.

When we dwell, here’s what will happen to us ,We shall not fear when terrible things happen to us. We shall not fear and get anxious when the enemy attacks us whether night or day because we’re covered under his shadow.

He’s saying no matter the obstacles that comes, he’ll protect us here I think that whatever comes, because we’re abiding in the secret place and has God as our security, nothing shall harm us. Just as in the world we have the Security Guard on post to secure our homes from thieves and gunmen .

We make it our habit to stay with God. Let us stay in the word and prayer in our secret place. We also make it a habit to dwell in the place were God wants us and where he can hide and protect us. He said no evil shall befall us no plague shall come near our dwelling. The promise is that the plague will not come near our house especially if our house is a habitation of God somewhere where God can dwell and feel comfortable.

He said he gives his angels charge over us. He gives authority and he gives them command to take care of us. Comprehensive protection is given as well just in case we fall, and they shall lift us up. This means that they lift us up in our walk. Life can get pretty rough at times but God offers protection. He offers security to make it on the other side.

Our enemies are very vicious but God says he sent help for us. With the angels he has dispatched, we can withstand the enemy and he will flee… James 4 vs 7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The main thing that we must remember is that the devil is a defeated foe and we’re more than conquerors through Christ who strengthen us. We must not fear what the enemy can do to us. Keep on dwelling in your secret place and see how beneficial it is to our Christian life and the body of Christ.
