Psalm 127 vs 1
Viewing from our spiritual house, except the Lord clean us up and fix us then no matter how we dress up we labor in vain.
So I went to the beauty salon this afternoon and spent two hours to get my hair done. I don’t have much hair on my head. I had to spend quality time to get what I needed done though. So I’m there thinking to myself. We spend so much time beautifying our outward appearance. Do we even want to spend quality time with God?
How can we be taking such great care of our outward appearance while our inner man craves for beauty as it relates to peace ,love, patience, kindness, empathy along with so many others? We need to work on the inner man and of course this will take time but the earlier we start the sooner we will see the results. the beauty that would come from this inner change will radiate into something even more beautiful or handsome on the outside.
We tend to take care of the outer man by dressing nicely, having our hair well groomed, pedicure, manicure and all those wonderful things which is good and yet our heart need fixing, our mind is not on God. As individuals we do not do the things that God wants us to do and we get so complacent. We try to do things on our own not waiting on him. So with all we do to adorn ourselves, if God is not present in our lives, then all the beautification is in vain. He says he beautifies the meek with salvation Psalm 149 vs 4.
I encourage us to let the Lord build our house so that we won’t labor in vain by taking care of the outer man because all that will be in vain.
