REAL DEAL MEAL AT COMIDA SABROSA

So I drove up to her house and of course, I was invited in but to be very honest I really didn’t need much an invitation because I was a frequent customer. It’s summer and that means less cooking and more eating out for me.

 

As I stepped into the house to collect my order she was at her thing. The six flames were lit and she moved expertly through the kitchen doing what she does best. As she does this you could see the level of focus.  Her eyes moved from pot to pot but her mind stayed intact as her hands surgically cut through vegetables or added a pinch of salt or pepper here or there.

 Food was and is indeed her passion and she made this quite clear not through words but by how she prepares her meals and caters to her customers.  Service is always with a smile and it is the same with her assistants and these include her mom and sister.

You might be wondering now just who this chef is. The truth is she might be relatively new on the scene but in St Thomas especially in the Morant Bay area and some parts of Kingston Tahj-Rae’s food has been creating waves. Youthlove has indeed tasted and it does “tickle our tastebud” as the slogan of Comida Sabrosa mandates.

Tahj’s cool, positive and calm demeanor synchronizes with her cooking and overflows into her dishes as they are all sumptuous. She methodically cooks her dishes with purposeful grace almost like a dance.  This 20-year-old has found her purpose and she is on her way to becoming one of the best.

 Tahj-Rae Wilson is a chef worth checking out. If you are in the neighborhood on a weekend her chicken pasta and ground beef pasta is to die for and these are done in many different ways. Stop by and give Comida Sabrosa a try.
