As I prayed the Lord directed me to this passage of scripture…Genesis 4.”Give your best to God.” Now we all know the story of how Cain offered a better sacrifice than Abel and how the Lord accepted the better sacrifice. This is just saying to us that whatever we do for God we have to do our best.
I believe Abel did his best at making sure that his crop came out very good because he knew he had to make that sacrifice unto God. So, he worked very hard and gave him the best. For many of us in the kingdom of God, we live a Holy and acceptable life unto God so that he will accept our praises and worship. Give your best to God
On the other hand, Cain took care of his flock, yes, but on the day of sacrifice he didn’t give his best. This again can be compared to some of us Christians, we go to church, we sing, we worship but still we don’t give of our best. God deserves our best. Give your best to God.
We go to work and we give our best to our employers, we spend a very long time on the job making sure that when pay day comes our salary is satisfying to us. On the other hand when we go into church on a Sunday or whenever church is in session we are drowsy, we complain that church is too long and we find a fault with everything. When we are to pray we can’t even give reverence to God because we are tired. Give your best to God.
So do you see why God will not accept our lousy praise? Today, let us ask ourselves, “Am I giving my best to God?” I want to encourage someone to continue doing your best and God will help you along the way. Even when you’re not rewarded for the things you do, God sees and will reward you and lastly, when you give of your best, you cancel worry.
If you’re not a child of God, then he’s calling you from sin. The best you can do for him is to surrender your life and present yourself to him. As we continue to give of our best, This is what the Lord is asking of us Romans 12 vs 1&2. Stay bless and do your best.
