When you think of a wakeup call, I would say a near death experience. Sometimes God has been calling us for years and years and we will not heed the call. He has done everything to get our attention but instead we turn a blind eye. He has to do something to get our attention and it sometimes hurt.
I know someone who would be at every open air service and every altar call. When ask if he was ready to give his life to the Lord he said no, not ready yet because he thinks he has time on his hands. A week before he took sick he said he was going on a vacation and when he return he would get baptized. The young man did not fully surrender but that was his desire. He took sick in a way that he almost died. He didn’t know if he would have lived but God saw the intent of his heart and saved his life. So he got the chance to make it right. Now he was ready to take up the cross to follow Jesus. Wake up!
You may be wondering why am I writing this? Not many persons live to give their testimonies or experiences. Not many get a time to repent. We don’t even know when our time will come. Proverbs 29:1 speaks about how after hearing the word and not harkening we will be suddenly cut off. There is no repentance in the grave. Wake up now! Let me add that this is for us Christians who are playing hop scotch with our salvation. I can testify to that. But thank God for His grace and mercy, I acted on my final chance.
Coming out of a near death experience allows us to prove who God is and the love He has for us. We will realize that we cannot depend on ourselves to live each day. As the song writer penned it “Can’t even walk without him holding my hand.” WE NEED GOD TO SURVIVE. He gets the Glory.
Matthew 6:33 says seek ye first the kingdom of God…. When you seek the Lord, He will answer you. Above all things seek God first and He will take care of the rest. He will make provision for your journey with him. Let me tell you this, the journey will not be an easy one, especially in this time but your destination is sure.
The only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ John14 vs 6. He said in Matthew 11 vs28 & 29 “ come unto me , all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Which simply means if you accept him, He will carry your heavy burden, he’ll take care of you. His promises are true.
I leave you with this verse of scripture John 3:16 which we all can recite with our eyes close…It tell us of the love God has for mankind. His unconditional love. Oh what a love! Many of us couldn’t have done what Jesus did. Die for our children? No way! But he did it for us. I encourage you all to get right with God give him a chance in your life and let him do the rest.
