Have you ever had a one night stand? What on earth is that? How did it happen? So, I went to a chill spot one night and I don’t know if it was because I was tired or what but I saw one of the most attractive man I have seen in years. I looked at him and my head felt dizzy and a smile bloomed on my usually stern face. I knew I was looking great with my skinny jeans and tightly fit floral blouse on. Furthermore my thickness and blackness was blaring in his path.
This was one body I knew he just had to look at. He acted like he didn’t care much but I knew his taste buds had gone into action and it was just a matter of time. It was like a bear to honey. A woman knows these things. He was tall, muscular with a shade of chocolate that is not often seen. Where did he come from? I turned away from him and sat on the stool and of course my rear spoke to his mind. I looked at him in the bar mirror as his oval shaped head turned in my direction from time to time.
I really just felt the need to be adventurous and reckless and it was very over powering. It wasn’t long before he came over and one thing led to another. We chatted and drank because I needed to de-stress. I was single and careful so what could happen? The next thing I knew I woke up with this stranger in my bed the next morning. What the hell was I thinking? Oh my God, I am a Christian. This is crazy! I quietly went to the bathroom hoping he would not be there when I returned. I just had a “one nighter”…Jesus! Has this ever happened to you or something like it?
Yup, this is what a one night stand is like. It is important to note that from he left that morning I have not seen or contacted him or him me. As a Christian and even if you are not these things are not above and beyond you. We need to understand that we all have needs and desires. Sometimes if we are not careful we may find ourselves in awkward situations like the one described above. This I found to be very dangerous. I did not know this man and had it not been for the God who I served I could have been a statistic. I could have been trafficked and it would not have been anybody’s fault but my own. We travel on a very treacherous path in this life so we need to tap into the Holy Spirit as we do the things we do.
When these things do happen don’t act like it never did. If you are lucky to get out without a scratch then see it as an experience you would never want to repeat. In the future take a friend when you go for a drink. Try never to go alone. Your drink could have been spiked and you did not even know hence the one night stand. Many times we have a habit of thinking that some things can never happen to us but we need to be on guard.
