The world is now being affected by the Corona Virus 19 and for most of us, it’s like a frantic panic-stricken experience. No one knows who might be incubating the disease or who might just have a sinus problem or flue. We are all afraid to sneeze, cough or even scratch around anyone for fear that we will be labelled as having this disease. This is a rough time for all but the big issue is that we cannot allow this disease to socially distance us as a people psychologically only physically. The idea of not greeting your neighbor with a handshake can be solved with a loud hail or shout. Jamaicans do this all the time.
We can stay at a safe distance and shout to our friends so that the spittle that may leave from us does not get near to them or theirs to us
That would work even better if you are wearing your mask. Blow your horn when you see your friend and give a wave. Shun no one and blame none. The phone comes in handy and should we need to have long discussions we can video call or just call.
Let us remember that we are still people. We do have to look out for each other in love regardless of color or creed. Let us not use the privilege of a mask or glove that is a form of protection to do evil. We do not need to hurt our brother or sister because we will never know when the tables may
turn. If our brother is ill we still have to help. We however need to make sure that we are properly protected as we do so.
Above all let us remember to pray for each other and to keep safe. Let us do the things that the experts have told us to do. We will then get through this as healthy individuals. It is important that we remember that at some point in time this will end. Let us remember that GOD is in control.
