You must make your spouse as secure as possible. He or she should never at any point believe that there is a competition going on. Your partner must know the position he or she holds and the commitment that binds it. That means there will be no need for jealousy. Your spouse must

never get the impression that he or she is being disrespected in front of friends. Respect is paramount in any relationship so speak of your issues when you are together. You should protect each other at all times.

It’s so funny that there are times when your partner is warning you about a particular friend and because you believe you know the friend so much you decide not to listen and then bam! Something happens and you are like “if only I had known or listened”. There are times when your spouse might just be seeing some things that you are not because you are blinded by the love you have for your friend. It’s important to listen sometimes so you can be on your guard, remember your spouse in most cases should be the one to have your back so trust is extremely important.

There is nothing wrong with having friends from the opposite gender but there has to be set boundaries. It is very easy to have an affair because of the closeness you may develop and this can be fostered because of various reasons. The reasons are many and they vary. Some

of these may include needing someone to talk to after an argument, complaining about something that your spouse might not be doing and your friend might just do.

Friends are important but you just need to make sure that you have the ones around you who will have your interest at heart. They should respect your relationship and be there to support you as your relationship improves.
