In a time of adverse challenges, when people do not know where to turn or what and who they should believe, I say to you, have you ever trusted God before? If the answer is yes, then I know He has come through for you for that challenge. This present challenge you may be facing is subjected to Jesus’ authority as much as the first. So “TRUST GOD AGAIN!” No matter how small or how big a problem, Jesus cares and He can solve them.

This was our last meal…..

I will share with you one small yet powerful testimony. It was some time in 2008 my wife and I was at home and I was cooking. I realized that I was cooking the last piece of meat we had, and we did not even have a tin mackerel.

Pay day was some days away…

It was a week away from payday, and I was the only one working at the time. When we got married, we promised that we would not run to our parents with our challenges, but we would work together with the help of God and figure them out. I believe this was our first test and we were not about to run crying to our parents. That evening while we were at the table eating, I said to my wife, “This is the last piece of meat we are eating, and I am not getting paid until next week. What are we going to do?”

A comforting answer….

Her reply made me very happy and confident. She said, “we have flour and oil, we also have rice, we cook and eat what we have.” I was so elated to hear such a thoughtful answer, however, what she said next was so simple but profound. She said, “God will provide, what do you think?” I could almost feel the power and I agreed with her instantly.

Left feeling better….

That evening we left the table not thinking about our problems but simply trusting God, we did not say a word to a soul. The next day I was at work and some of the guys and I were standing out front. A man came selling fish, and all the guys were buying. I could not help but notice that the seller had no scale, but he was issuing one pound, three pounds, five pounds, and so on. This was a good challenge so I decided to challenge him. So I walked over to him and said, “How do you know that you are not robbing your customers or even robbing yourself?”

I love a challenge…….

He picked up about three fishes and put them in a bag and said to me, “Here, this is a pound go to the shop across the road and ask them to weigh it for you. If it is an ounce over a pound, it is yours, and if it is an ounce under a pound, it is yours.” This excited me, not that I was hoping to win for the sake of the fish or anything, but I just love a good challenge. I took it to the shop and asked the shop keeper to weigh it for me. I have never seen anything like this before it was one pound exactly.

God worked it out…..

Owning up to my defeat I took it back to him and said, “Here sir, you are a very skillful man.” He said to me “That was yours from the beginning take it.” I was amazed how God Just worked out our next meal and I didn’t have to pay for it.

Trusting God even more……

A day later my wife’s mother called and said to me that I should stop off for some stuff when I was coming from work. I stopped and to my amazement, I got a bag of grocery. We got chicken, peas, rice, yam and some ackee. God is awesome and he will come through when you least expect it. I encourage you to stay positive and if you have trust God before “Trust God Again.”
