How often do you pray…..
I saw this on someone’s status “Prayer will take you where no taxi can take you” Let’s think of this. We often head out to go somewhere, whether to the supermarket, to an interview, the doctor, school, work or even to church. Sometimes it’s just someplace, to visit a friend. We may not have a vehicle so we either take the bus or a taxi. I prefer a taxi. Prayer is power.
We wait at the bus stop for the taxi for a period of time or no time at all. Sometimes we get frustrated because we have to wait long. There are times when the taxi arrives but there is no space and so we still have to wait on the next available one. Time might be running out and still, no taxi to take us to where we want to go. We are getting impatient. Many of us give up and go back home or we still wait and be late.
Do you only pray when you need something from GOD?
It is the same way when we want something from God and we pray and have to wait. There are times when our prayers are answered immediately and sometimes it seems like forever. A taxi takes us to our destination really quickly but we’re not sure to reach. With prayers we are sure it will reach to God because when we pray we get answers to our prayers. The answer never normally comes when we expect it to but God always answers on time. Prayer is power.
Answers are sure to come….
There are also times when we don’t get what we pray for but we either get something better or told to wait. In this instance, He has something better in store for us. We may have prayed and asked God to direct us on a journey and He delays us and we get upset that the driver is late. Have we ever stop to think that it is God saving us from something that would harm us or even delay us so we can be favored by him? This is how He puts road blocks in our way so that His will for us will be fulfilled and His name be glorified.
Prayers bring miracles….
Prayer is the tool to unlock doors. It brings healing, deliverance, unexpected miracles. There are times when it changes lives and allows us to win battles. It increases our faith and gives us strength. Philippians 4 vs 6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.
Jeremiah 29 vs 12 ” Then you will call on me and come and pray with me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 33 vs 3; call me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
How many times have you prayed for something and when you get the answer, you get more than what you bargained for? What a God we serve. He takes you places when you pray and your destination is sure. So as we seek God in prayer, don’t get impatient like waiting on a taxi, let us run this race with patience. Hebrews 12 vs 1 and pray without ceasing 1Thessalonians 5 vs 17. Prayer is power.
