STOP LIMITING YOURSELF

So you decided that you want to settle down, get married and have a family. You are trying to find a wife in your community, state , district or even country but you have no luck so you decide to give up. Are you going to stay single for the rest of your life? Is it that you are only searching for a Negroid woman or man or a Caucasian woman or man? if you don’t get a woman of that particular race does that mean you are going to stay single for the rest of your life? Stop limiting yourself. The question is ,do we only have one country in this world? Are there only black or white women in this world ? Does it mean we cannot find love in Canada if we are in Jamaica? Instead of the Caribbean can’t we find love in Europe?

As a people we need to be open minded when we decide that we are going to do things. These things may not happen if we have “a one track mind”. The world was made to be our playing field and as such nothing is wrong with leaving Jamaica and going to Africa and finding a wife. Nothing is wrong with interracial relationships.

The idea of two cultures merging is a beautiful thing as long as they are both respected. We have seen people move to different countries and life has gotten so great with them. Do not limit yourself. As much as we want to think that its best to “stick with the evil you know” there are times when this really was not what was intended. Sadly it is proven when it doesn’t work out but works out elsewhere.

We should not just look at this from a relationship perspective. If it is not possible to find a job in St Thomas then either create one or try and find one in Kingston or Portland. It might just mean that you may have to look to Europe. Don’t just sit there and tell yourself that you cannot find one and so you don’t earn. Sometimes we have to move out of our comfort zone in an effort to succeed.

There are times when you are sitting in a job that you hate and you are miserable and tired. Have you made other applications in areas of your interest? Have you started doing something in your area of interest? Stop limiting yourself and do something different.

The world is of such now that contacting people is quite easy and even in the area of food we have now gotten exposed to different tastes. As Jamaicans, Canadians or Americans we must keep our authenticity but that doesn’t mean we can’t use some of what other countries have to make ours better. This will make our chefs better as they can now cater for a wider range of clientele. Stop limiting yourself.

Limiting ourselves places us in a weak position. Are you living your life just to suit others or is it for you and your future? Demographics should not limit your reach on the world . Color should never be a problem even if others make it theirs. If your partner is okay with it then go ahead. Life is full of possibilities and you don’t have a clue where it will take you. We all have our individual journey and we cannot allow anyone but ourselves to dictate our route. Lets ask Christ to help us to choose and don’t limit yourselves.
