Reggae and dancehall Music

Driving through or just walking through any community the sound of reggae continues to perfume the air as we celebrate a proud Independence day in Jamaica with the likes of Romaine Virgo, Christopher Martin, Chronix, Beres Hammond and of course Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley along with others. We cannot at this time leave out the undeniable change of sound as the Dance Hall whistles through the country side and races through the towns. Beenie Man ,Bounty Killa, Movado, Kartel, Skilly Beng , Skeng Chronic law ,Alkaline ,Intence and our crowned Queen of the dancehall Spice continue in their own way to light the path to the crevices and corners of the world.

Gospel Reggae

In all of this we have to thank those who came before and laid the foundation because the journey continues. Reggae began here and it is the heartbeat of our people. Not to be out done gospel reggae is also a major contender with Jermaine Edwards, ,Rondell Positive Allen, D.J Nicholas , Minister Marion Hall and a host of others.

Art and History

Our Art and history continue to hold us firm as it gives us that feeling of nostalgia which reminds us of where we are coming from as a nation. We continue to show respect to Edna Manley, Albert Huie, Cecil Baugh, Kapo, Alvin Marriott, John Dunkley, David Boxer, and Barrington Watson. There are now coming to the fore some new artist and film makers and some of the works from 2021 and the artist can be seen at Gal dem.com . This shows us that we are growing as a country and will continue to do so as we strive towards greater things.

Sports

Let us take a look at our sporting arena. This is where our flames burn with patriotism. Our young ladies and gents take to the field in different areas. They have made us proud. Track and field is one of our high points. There are also football, netball, basketball and a host of other areas. We are indeed flying high and for this reason anywhere we are we are proud to be Jamaican.

Jamaica 60

As a people Jamaicans will forever be a force to be reckoned with. Wherever we go our marks will be left hopefully positive for the most part. We are a passionate, motivating and kind people . This can be seen rooted in our rural areas. People still say good morning and good evening when they see you on the street. They still have a kind word and they will share whatever goodies they may have in their baskets. This is rooted and grounded in the Jamaican people and it will never leave us. Jamaica is a beautiful place. It is our land of wood and water. We will continue to celebrate it for years and years to come. Jamaica the land of our birth. Let us continue to celebrate it.
